Job Description
Senior macOS Engineer
Location: Quantico, VA (Onsite)
Clearance: TS/SCI Required
We are seeking a Senior-level Engineer to support a large-scale, secure federal enterprise IT environment. This role focuses on designing, engineering, and securing macOS endpoint solutions while ensuring compliance with strict cybersecurity and mission requirements.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize enterprise macOS environments, including system configurations, security baselines, and architecture
Administer and improve endpoint management using Jamf Pro or similar MDM tools (policies, profiles, patching, compliance enforcement)
Apply DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, DISA STIGs, vulnerability management) to maintain secure and compliant systems
Develop automation using Bash, Python, or AppleScript to streamline deployment, configuration, and reporting
Troubleshoot complex macOS and cross-platform issues across hardware, OS, authentication, and network layers
Integrate macOS devices with enterprise services (identity management, certificate-based authentication, VPN, network access)
Manage full endpoint lifecycle (deployment, imaging, upgrades, patching, retirement)
Evaluate system performance and security posture; identify gaps and implement improvements
Support audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews, including remediation efforts
Document technical procedures, configurations, and best practices
Provide technical recommendations to leadership on macOS strategy, endpoint security, and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
8+ years of experience in systems engineering, endpoint engineering, or macOS administration
Strong experience managing macOS in enterprise or secure environments
Hands-on experience with Jamf Pro (or comparable MDM platforms)
Experience with DoD security standards (RMF, STIGs, vulnerability remediation)
Scripting experience (Bash, Python, AppleScript, or similar)
Experience with macOS deployment, patching, configuration profiles, and compliance reporting
Strong troubleshooting across macOS, identity systems, networking, and enterprise applications
Nice to Have
Experience with Apple Business Manager or enterprise Apple ecosystem tools
Background supporting classified or highly regulated environments
Experience integrating macOS with identity services (AD, PKI, SSO)
