ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Cyber Security Systems Engineers will be a part of the high security Special Program environments in the Information Technology Services Division. These roles will provide advanced systems engineering and administration, computing support, and specialized support services for the enablement of key research and administrative functions by ensuring the security, compliance, functionality, and reliability of systems through hands on configuration and support. These positions will be fully onsite.
Responsibilities include:
Administration and secure configuration of various operating system distributions
Ensure proper operational support of systems, server and hardware while engaging with stake holders through ticketing system
Oversight of the installation and configuration of systems to comply with Government regulations
Generate and maintain system, security, and process documentation
Respond and remediate system and network security vulnerabilities
Implement, test, and support new and emerging technologies while applying security best practices, and required compliance measures
Conduct risk assessments to determine residual level of risk and any required mitigations
Present system and network security principles and technology solutions to diverse audiences
Participate in the implementation of required policies, procedures, and configurations; make recommendations for improvements
