Job Description
Northrop Grumman is looking for a Material Planner 1 to support our MRP Planning department. As a member of the MRP Planning department you’ll get to manage materials from dock to shipping while interfacing with other functional areas. This position will serve on-site at Apopka, FL.
Responsibilities
Prepares lists of materials, accessories, and parts used in production following engineering and design blueprints. Examines blueprints, identifies parts code, computes quantity needed, and lists total material requirements including contract numbers, routing, and special handling instructions. Submits list to purchasing department for use in preparing purchase orders.
Understanding customer requirements through RFPs and other requests
Collaborating and coordinating with other functional areas to develop the material procurement strategy, interfacing with Global Supply Chain, Program Management, and Operations Program Management.
Ensuring delivery schedule adherence
Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.
Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
Maintains "as required" material planning, reorder points and consumption.
Basic Qualifications for Material Planner 1
High School Diploma with 2 years of combined experience in Material Planning, Global Supply Chain or Material Handling.
U.S. Citizenship required
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications for Material Planner 1
Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of combined experience in Material Planning, Global Supply Chain or Material Handling.
Experience in working with manufacturing specifications and drawings.
This position is intended to be contracted to hire. While this is our intent, this is not a promise to hire by Northrop Grumman. This contract position aligns with our full-time role of MRP Planner.
