Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to support a U.S. Government customer providing incident response services to civilian agencies and critical infrastructure organizations. This role focuses on leading technology integration initiatives, mapping workflows, developing architecture solutions, and supporting strategic modernization efforts across cybersecurity and threat hunting operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive systems engineering and architecture experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into scalable, mission-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end technology integration and workflow mapping initiatives
• Document current and future-state processes, requirements, and system dependencies
• Develop workflow diagrams, process maps, swimlane diagrams, and architecture visualizations
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to validate requirements and identify operational impacts
• Analyze cross-functional impacts and recommend process and technology improvements
• Support strategic planning, compliance efforts, and operational readiness initiatives
• Coordinate with technical and operational teams to ensure successful technology adoption
• Deliver architecture documentation, requirements traceability, and executive-level briefings
Mandatory Skills
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Ability to obtain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) Suitability
• 10+ years of systems engineering, architecture, or related technical experience
• Knowledge of systems engineering, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity tools, and databases
• Experience with cybersecurity architectures and attack mitigation strategies
• Experience with Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC), change management, and requirements management processes
• Knowledge of Agile systems engineering and development methodologies
• Experience with SAFe or similar Agile frameworks
• DevSecOps or DevOps experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and locations
Preferred Skills
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as DoDAF or FEAF
• Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, ITIL, ISO, or CMMI methodologies
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-37/800-53 controls
• Experience supporting DHS or other federal cybersecurity programs
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree preferred
Desired Certifications
• DoD 8140 IAT Level III
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
• SAFe Certification (SA, SP, SSM/SASM, RTE, POPM, ASE, SPD, or SPC)
