Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management operations, implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets, providing advice on methods for the use of funds to support the organization and display extensive knowledge on financial and accounting automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

- Performs or advises on work in any of the bases or systems of budget administration.
- Analyzes and recommends costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
- Implements legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
- Provides advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.
- Works within a variety of financial programs to include General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), and Financial Management Information System (FMIS), and performing accounting and other financial management duties for the organization.
- Supervises, sets priorities and schedules work as necessary to assure effective accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect daily work.

- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position has occasional, Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel that maybe required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
