Job Description

Duties

  • Ensures that the policies are technically sound and managerially responsive to meet organizational requirements.
  • Conducts comprehensive management studies using knowledge of economic principles, cost analysis and environmental assessments as related to space management, analyzing study results ,identifying problems and improvements.
  • Analyzes and evaluates space requests considering activities organization structure, workflow, staffing, mission, location, special requirements and availability of space.
  • Evaluates requests for additional space assignments within prescribed space allocations for permanent staff, approved contractor support, or ad hoc groups to determine the necessity for urgent requests.
  • Coordinates the procurement, changes and moves of telephone and local area network services to support personnel and classified or unclassified equipment relocations for special projects.

  • The incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Qualifications

Time-in-Grade:

GS-11: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-09 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

GS-12: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-11 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-11, Specialized experience is defined as: assisting with evaluating requests for additional space assignments using
prescribed space allocations for staff.

For the GS-12, Specialized experience is defined as: experience conducting analysis on organizational space management to
provide recommendations for improvements and policy development.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education

GS-11 Substitution of Education for Experience: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education ( ).

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.
