Location: Huntsville, AL or Littleton, CO (Onsite Only)
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 – $192,510; for states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Final offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for an Associate Manager, Cable and Harness Design supporting wire harness and cable design for space applications across multiple lines of business. You will provide leadership, functional management, and technical direction to a team of approximately 12 engineers responsible for electromechanical engineering research, design, development, and production support for the Harness Core Team, while driving effective project management, detailed planning, and efficient production support.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Provide leadership, functional management, and technical direction to a team of engineers responsible for cable and harness design and production support for space programs.

Provide functional directorate, program management, and customers with effective project management, accurate and detailed plans and schedules, and efficient production support.

Further the department’s development, growth, and expertise in cable and harness engineering, tools, and processes.

Coordinate staffing, headcount management, recruitment, selection, and training of subordinate employees.

Oversee performance assessment, work assignments, salary recommendations, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop training material to be used with early?career engineers and new hires, helping establish consistency across the team.

Communicate technical status and issues to program leadership, technical leadership, functional leadership, and external customers.

Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and audits as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with a STEM focus and fundamental principles, or an MBA with relevant engineering leadership experience.

Prior experience in Control Account Management (CAM) within an Earned Value Management (EVM) system.

Prior experience as a project or program lead.

Prior experience with cable/harness design.

Proficiency with Creo Parametric Cabling or similar cable/harness design tools.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Staffing and headcount management experience.

Experience generating training material, instructing others, and providing technical mentorship.

Experience leading Zuken schematic/cabling drafting tool (or similar) and Creo 3D modeling tool (or similar) design teams, programs, or projects.

Experience collaborating with subsystems, survivability, environmental, and other specialty engineers to develop unique cables for various space products.

Cable and harness production experience or close collaboration with production centers.

Experience presenting to leadership and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills suited to a leadership role in a complex engineering environment.
