INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Facilities and Environmental Support Coordinator provides direct support to the Government Facilities Manager in Mayport, FL. This role performs critical oversight of facilities management functions, ensuring adherence to environmental (HAZMAT/HAZWASTE) and safety standards. This role will also serve as a key administrative assistant to the Facilities Manager and act as a liaison with NAVFAC and Base Operating Support (BOS) contractors. Expertise in compliance and coordination will be essential to maintaining a safe, secure, and fully operational facility on behalf of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD) on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. This position is located in Mayport, FL.

What You'll Do
- Provide primary support to the Government facilities manager conducting oversight for the command's Environmental program, including Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) management and Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE) disposal procedures. Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and DoD regulations.
- Provide direct administrative support to the Government Facilities Manager, including maintaining records, tracking action items to completion, managing trouble tickets, maintaining facility related schedules and preparing reports as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for submitting and tracking facility trouble tickets with NAVFAC. Act as the on-site liaison for NAVFAC and BOS contractors during repair and maintenance work, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in conducting regular facility inspections to identify and report safety hazards, security vulnerabilities, and compliance discrepancies. Ensure all findings are documented and corrected.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant environmental and safety instructions, regulations, and policies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Navy instructions).
- Serve as the primary communicator to the Government Facilities Manager, providing proactive and timely updates, concise reports, risk assessments, facility conditions, and compliance status to ensure full situational awareness.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
- One to three (1-3) of experience in facilities management, operations support, or a related field, preferably in a DoD or U.S. Navy environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with environmental compliance, including hazardous waste management principles.
- Must possess current certifications in or be able to obtain them shortly after hire date: HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) and RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Hazardous Waste.
- Ability to comply with annual NSWC PHD command and other required training.
- Experience interfacing with NAVFAC or a similar public works organization for facility maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and conduct thorough follow-up on all action items.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must have an active U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline is desired.
- Five to eight (5-8) or more years of experience providing US Navy facilities and environmental support.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and execute project activities on schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
