Job Description
Position Title: Power Platform Developer
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.) — no travel
Employment Type: Long-term contract
Clearance: ICE Public Trust strongly preferred. Other active Public Trust considered for strong candidates.
Work Authorization: U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust if not currently held.
Compensation: Highly competitive, based on qualifications & experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a hands-on Power Platform Developer to serve as the primary developer supporting a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) mission. You will build new applications and upgrade existing ones — automating administrative tasks and centralizing data sources so investigators and admins spend less time on paperwork and more time on the mission. This is a technically focused, build-first role on a small, collaborative team, and you will run largely independently.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Build new applications and enhance existing ones across the Power Platform suite, primarily customized Canvas Apps.
• Develop and manage complex Power Automate workflows, automated notifications, and permission logic.
• Modernize manual processes — convert legacy PDFs and intake workflows into centralized, app-driven data sources.
• Integrate data through SharePoint connectors with layered access controls, and surface data in Power BI dashboards.
• Build from wireframes and mockups provided by the business analyst team, turning them into polished, working applications.
• Act as the main developer for the mission, running solo with occasional reach-back to another developer.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• 2 to 4 years building solutions in the Power Platform suite (Power Apps and Power Automate); strong suite proficiency matters more than total years.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience customizing and tailoring Canvas Apps.
• Power Automate experience with multi-step workflows, notifications, and permissions.
• SharePoint integration experience, including environments with complex or varied access controls.
• Strong technical confidence and the ability to navigate and customize the Power Platform independently.
• Flexibility, patience, and creativity to balance competing requirements from multiple stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust.
NICE TO HAVE:
• Active ICE Public Trust or another adjudicated DHS background investigation.
• Model-Driven Apps experience.
• Power BI dashboard development.
• Microsoft certifications (PL-100, PL-200, or PL-400).
• Bachelor's degree; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
WHY THIS ROLE:
• High-impact federal law enforcement mission: freeing investigators to focus on stopping threats at the border.
• Small, energetic, collaborative team with a genuine family-style culture.
• 100% remote with no travel.
