Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineer, Principal in Dayton, OH to provide planning, execution, and evaluation of AFRL technology development project demonstrations.
How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:
As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, Principal with MTSI, you will be responsible for providing test planning support and execution for cutting-edge technologies for the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). You will sit in the AFRL customer facility and be an integral part of a combined government/contractor team developing and demonstrating new capabilities for the Department of the Air Force.

Education:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field. A Master's degree in a similar field is highly desired.
Even better if you have these desired skills:
• Graduate of military test pilot school (USAF, USN, etc)
Clearance Requirements:
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Provide flight test engineering expertise to U.S. Air Force and Space Force customers for advanced technology development related to R&D, acquisition, development and testing of cutting-edge technologies.
- Assist the AFRL customer with creation of developmental and operational flight test processes.
- Assist the AFRL customer with execution of flight test efforts at applicable flight test ranges
- Create test plans, coordinate test planning, and perform data collection and analysis of flight test results.
- Provide engineering expertise to the lead project engineer and make technical recommendations to the project engineers.
- Assist with identifying and mitigating technical, cost, and schedule risks to projects.
- Analyze end user requirements and provide recommendations based on scientific results and developmental risks.
- Evaluate proposed projects for feasibility and applicability to relevant miliary mission areas.
- Participate in strategic planning and development of systems architectures.
- Generate documents, briefings, roadmaps, and planning materials to support the customer mission.
- Work closely with program managers, lead project engineers, and program teams.
- Up to 20% travel in support of test events and technical exchange meetings.
Qualifications Required:
- Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- At least 10 years' experience with flight test engineering, planning, and execution of cutting-edge capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of Air Force flight test instructions and policy.
- Experience in execution of Government flight test processes, to include test requirements derivation, design of experiments, test planning, test plan writing, risk assessment, flight worthiness, and mission assurance.
- Strong skills in documenting analytical questions, capability gaps, and solution neutral requirements.
- Demonstrated performance in conduct of test events.
- Ability to develop and present analysis results briefings to senior leadership.
- Experience working with U.S. Air Force and/or U.S. Space Force customers.
- Experience developing high-level project/work plans.
- Clear and effective oral and written communications skills.
- Must work well within a team environment to identify and apply best practices.
Education:
