Job Description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to support a high-priority, highly visible malware analysis modernization program for the Fort Meade customer. This role will work with a team of innovative engineers to develop new capabilities supporting the processing of mission-critical data and analytics. The position will contribute to the modernization of existing services and applications, helping to improve performance, scalability, and functionality across a critical mission platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and backend services
  • Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures
  • Support modernization efforts for data processing services and mission applications
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop and implement new capabilities
  • Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system problems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and software artifacts
  • Support software integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and software development best practices


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience developing Java applications and backend services
  • Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and web services
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Experience using Git for source code management
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience using IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse IDE
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities and mission requirements
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting malware analysis, cybersecurity, or mission-focused analytic platforms
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and processing frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise software architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems and environments


Salary Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
