Job Description

Peerless is searching for an experienced Technical Writer to support the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of technical documentation across a variety of software and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation while working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to support product adoption and knowledge transfer. This is in person in Dayton OH position

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar documentation-focused role
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience creating technical documentation for software, systems, or technology products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related documentation tools
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of technical writing best practices and industry standards
  • Willingness to travel to off-site locations as required
  • Strong verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for software applications, systems, and processes
  • Develop API documentation, OpenAPI specifications, and user-facing technical content
  • Produce onboarding materials, training resources, and self-service support documentation
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Maintain documentation repositories and documentation-as-code frameworks
  • Ensure documentation follows established standards, style guides, and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement of documentation processes and user enablement resources
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and gather feedback to improve documentation quality
