The Software Developer II will design, maintain, and implement Government Off-The-Shelf software solutions based on specific program requirements and methodologies. This role will support software development, system integrations, web-based query tools, reporting systems, and related applications in a production environment.

The initial assignment is anticipated to run through 9/30/2026, with possible extension through 12/31/2026 based on business needs. Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

The Software Developer II will design, maintain, and implement Government Off-The-Shelf software solutions based on specific program requirements and methodologies. This role will support software development, system integrations, web-based query tools, reporting systems, and related applications in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and implement software applications and tools
- Develop original software applications from high-level customer concepts or requirements
- Integrate software applications with third-party tools, utilities, and systems
- Support large and complex software systems, including web-based query and reporting systems
- Create technical specifications and design documentation
- Identify technical strategies to connect disparate software applications
- Support database development, database management, user interface development, and system design
- Implement technical solutions and identify operational or management issues

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in software development, computer science, or a related technical field and at least five years of software development experience supporting systems in a production environment; or, in lieu of a degree, at least ten years of software development experience supporting systems in a production environment
- Experience used in lieu of education must be at or above the level of this position
- Experience with multiple programming languages, scripts, operating systems, and software development tools
- Experience may include C#, Python, PowerShell, ASP.NET, SQL, XML, WSDL, Angular, HTML, JavaScript, and microservices architecture
- Experience designing and developing original software applications from high-level or non-specific concepts
- Experience writing programs to support desired outcomes, workflows, or customer requirements
- Experience producing technical documentation, including process flows, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, interface specifications, data dictionaries, and data models
- Ability to create project work estimates
- Knowledge of information security systems and security standards for sensitive and classified data
- Knowledge of FISMA requirements and related federal information security standards

- Experience deploying container-based solutions
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and microservices architecture
- Comfortable working from high-level concepts and translating customer needs into technical solutions
- Strong documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting software systems in a complex production environment
