Elastic Site Reliability Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Elastic Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a mission-focused organization delivering secure, scalable observability and reliability solutions across Department of Defense environments. This position is on-site at Hanscom AFB (MA) or Langley AFB (VA).

The Elastic Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will support and optimize large-scale Elastic Stack platforms used in production mission systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and security in classified environments. This role directly supports the operational readiness of Air Force mission systems by strengthening platform resilience and observability at scale.

Responsibilities for the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer include:

• Operating and supporting enterprise-scale Elastic Stack environments for search, logging, and observability
• Ensuring platform reliability, uptime, performance, and scalability across mission-critical systems
• Managing Kubernetes-based Elastic deployments, with a strong preference for ECK operator experience
• Building automation for deployments, monitoring, and incident response workflows
• Troubleshooting and resolving production issues across distributed systems and secure environments

Required Qualifications for the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer include:

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack in enterprise production environments
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Linux/Unix systems, and networking fundamentals
• Experience supporting observability frameworks (logs, metrics, tracing) in secure or regulated environments
• Active or eligible for a DoD security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

Compensation for the Elastic Site Reliability Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
