About The Role
Peraton is seeking an experienced Competitive Assessment Advisor to engage as an individual contributor within a team of competitive assessment professionals who influence both strategic and tactical decision-making across the enterprise by delivering actionable data-driven intelligence relative to our markets, customers, competition, and partners and, thereby, enable profitable strategic growth initiatives and enhanced probability of win (pWin) for our tactical opportunity pursuits.
This individual will have responsibility for leading competitive assessment initiatives to enhance Peraton's competitive position across Defense, Intelligence, Federal Civilian, Health, and State/Local markets. Competitive assessment extends beyond just the competitive rivalry exhibited by our industry peers to include potential threats (new market entrants and/or substitutes) within the competitive market environment as well as the bargaining power of our customers and suppliers. Competitive assessment practitioners focus on discerning the strategic implications of intelligence findings and formulating recommendations designed to enhance our strategies, augment our capability solutions, and/or improve our proposed offerings.

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities;
Under direction from senior-level Growth and Competitive Assessment leadership, key responsibilities and primary areas of focus include:
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to support development of market penetration strategies and business case rationale for strategic growth in niche markets. Support the Growth and Strategy functions with broader market and competitive analysis as an input into Strategic Account Planning, Franchise Campaigns and other strategic priorities.
- Customer Insight: Provide insight into key customer budgets and spend profiles as well as market sizing/segmentation to support development of predictive models on market and industry evolution and trends as well as strategic business plans of action.
- Competitive Intelligence: Develop actionable intelligence-with a focus on competitor strategies, differentiated solutions and long-range strategic objectives-that directly support opportunity-specific competitive assessment deliverables. Profile anticipated competitor technical, management, corporate experience, and pricing approaches to inform Peraton's ability to differentiate from competition.
- Competitive Assessment Infrastructure: Collaborate across the competitive assessment team to conceptualize/define team capabilities and best practices for competitive assessment deliverables, including: franchise campaign market analysis and competitive landscape, competitor/technology battle cards, tradeshow/event competitive intelligence initiatives, and timely market updates. Lead efforts to design, organize, develop, and safeguard an organizational knowledge management system for enterprise-wide consumption of competitive assessment deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, business or related field and 8+ years of relevant government contracting (GovCon) and Federal acquisition subject matter expertise (6+ with Master's)
- 12+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in research, documentation and visualization of actionable intelligence for executive decision-makers with a demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information, identify trends, and discern strategic implications that may potentially harm Peraton's growth objectives, including market share and/or competitive positioning
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and oral/written communications skills to convey actionable findings, discern strategic implications, and provide targeted recommendations to executive- and sector-level audiences
- Strong proficiency with market research tools, applications, and databases as well as Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
- US. Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance (Active Secret or Top- Secret security clearance preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience mentoring mid-level and junior members of a competitive assessment team
- An intellectually curious "analytic Ninja" and critical thinker with a passion for research and assessment who can extend their understanding of "how?" and "what?" to articulate the "why?" and "so what?"
- Demonstrated ability to provide consultative insight into multiple technical disciplines and collaboratively engage across all Growth practice areas (Business Development, Capture, Communications/Marketing, Government Relations, Proposal Management, and Strategy)
- Skilled facilitator with demonstrated proficiency to maintain an independent un-biased perspective, manage group dynamics/dialogue, and ensure all participants have a voice at the table while conducting competitive assessment working sessions
- Demonstrated ability to leverage subject matter expertise and provide coaching/training as a force multiplier to augment the Competitive Assessment capability across the company through the Peraton Growth Academy
- Capability to plan, prioritize, multi-task and delegate assigned workload and handle multiple (frequently conflicting) priorities while adhering to deadlines
