INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Duties

• You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) under a Program Office within TEAMSUB.
• You will develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to protect and defend information systems from threats.
• You will monitor networks and systems for security incidents, analyze potential threats, and respond effectively to mitigate risks.
• You will ensure regulatory compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards, such as the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines.
• You will perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures and recommend enhancements.
• You will work proactively with program office personnel and stakeholders to address security concerns, ensure systems are protected, and foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: cybersecurity expertise, threat monitoring and incident management experience, regulatory compliance knowledge, proficiency in security tools; and strong problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-04 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. This position has a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at the GS-15, step 05, which is equivalent to $191,850. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.
