Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Engineer to design, integrate, and support enterprise-grade Windows server environments within a mission-driven government contracting program. This role is ideal for a technical professional who thrives in secure, fast-paced environments and enjoys building resilient, scalable, and automated Windows solutions.
You will play a key role in shaping and optimizing the organization’s Windows infrastructure, both physical and virtual, while driving innovation through automation, modern tooling, and best-in-class engineering practices. A major emphasis of this role will be on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Salary Description
$84.24 - $91.45 hourly

A major emphasis of this role will be on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
Requirements
- Design, integrate, and implement Windows server systems, applications, and new infrastructure solutions.
- Manage and maintain physical and virtual Windows server environments, ensuring secure, efficient, and responsive operations.
- Develop, test, and deploy automated workflows that enhance IT service delivery using MECM, PowerShell, and other automation tools.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, and associated software to ensure optimal performance.
- Apply OS patches, updates, and security fixes to maintain compliance and system integrity.
- Continuously monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems with minimal operational disruption.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and Group Policies through Active Directory and related tools.
- Implement and enforce security controls including firewalls, antivirus, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Configure, test, and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure system resilience.
- Automate routine administrative tasks and system configurations to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps; support reporting and metrics collection.
- Provide advanced Active Directory administration, including trusts, migrations, functional levels, and GPO management.
- Develop and track change requests for software upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve configuration issues and improve system reliability; manage SSL certificates as needed.
- Analyze network and server design, recommending improvements for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Monitor and remediate server vulnerabilities based on security scans and compliance requirements.
- Support and manage IIS and related web technologies to ensure reliable web service operations.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
- Contribute to process development and optimization across IT operational workflows.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support mission success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong expertise with MECM, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and automation frameworks.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with IIS, SSL certificate management, and enterprise security practices.
- Background supporting secure or regulated environments (DoD, federal, or government contracting preferred).
