Chipton-Ross is seeking 11 Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) Technicians for a contract opportunity at Kennedy Space Center, FL.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be comfortable standing, bending down and crawling into confined spaces, must be able to lift 10+ lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; Must be able to work all shifts. Training will be 1st shift.
ADDITIONAL
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
This work assignment has been designated as "safety sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory preplacement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- The ideal candidate has experience in thermal protective systems application.
- Experience with primer mixing and applications.
- Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) foam application preferred
- Experience interpreting complex blueprints and process documents.
- Works on structures and systems using established drawings and requirements
- Ability to work with chemicals for applications on product
- Understands mixing ratios of chemicals and there application
- Able to work in tight space for extended periods of time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
- Experience working on a NASA Program
- Experience in a clean room environment
- Manufacturing experience in human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware
- Experience and/or coursework in thermal protective systems
