Job Description:
Performs inspections of electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, and related aircraft electrical installations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications
This inspector implements quality assurance and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations
Inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing ongoing reviews of work for compliance with requirements
Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner
Specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished
Communicates deficiencies to proper persons
Maintains Quality Assurance files
Documents results of all inspections
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting or working with aircraft electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, or related electrical installations
Minimum of 5 years of Aerospace Quality Inspection experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing product or process inspections
Minimum of 5 years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints
Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Electrical inspection experience on aircraft systems, avionics, wiring, or integrated electrical components
Experience working with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspections
Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or sufficient experience to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate
Experience with Boeing 7XX airplane and/or Military aircraft
Experience with Executive Fleet aircraft
Ability to perform the following requirements:
The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
Read, write, and comprehend the English language
Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
Frequent walking on flat surfaces
Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
Occasional contact with metals
Frequent exposure to noise
Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.
