The Army Division's (N210) mission is to provide world class engineering workforce to support communications, combat, mission engineering, testing, training, and intelligence capabilities that provide the U.S. Army an asymmetric advantage. The Army Division work program spans over 40 projects across the globe with an emphasis placed on being in the same locations as our sponsors. The work programs leverage a diverse set of technical disciplines from within the Division and across MITRE Technology and Engineering (MTE) to maximize our impact in solving some of the Army's toughest challenges in the areas of systems engineering, communications, electronic warfare, data analytics, and autonomy.
Job Description:
The Army Division (N210) is seeking a talented and experienced leader to serve as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff leading a high performing team achieving critical mission outcomes essential to the Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and its integration with Golden Dome for America (GDA).
The Army division has multiple projects supporting IAMD missions, including PAE Fires, Space and Missile Defense Command, CPE Aviation, USARPAC, and USAREUR-AF that play critical roles for the Army. These organizations drive acquisition and combatant command decisions critical to the Army's success. This senior technical staff will be responsible for increasing the integration of the MITRE efforts for these organizations to provide a cohesive support strategy and delivery of operational capability to the Army.
The position will also focus on driving senior-level sponsor relationships and expanding new opportunities within the missile defense mission space. The role is expected to, in collaboration and partnership with Division leadership, engage with senior leaders across Army organizations, MDA and Golden Dome to strengthen those relationships and create new mission impactful opportunities for MITRE. The role will also help to integrate MITRE's relationships and work across MDA, Navy, Army and Air Force programs contributing to integrated missile defense mission capabilities by working with key DDs, PLs, and staff. In addition, the individual will support execution of existing work programs and serve as a senior mentor to the growing Huntsville-based staff supporting these mission areas.
The candidate will report to the N210 Managing Director on all aspects of the sponsor-facing and internal efforts. This role will embody the recent MNS strategy update reflective of working on the most consequential of sponsor problems and maximizing value.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement a coordinated strategy for MITRE support to Army IAMD sponsors.
- Leverage a technical understanding of Army IAMD systems to ensure interoperability and complimentary integration.
- Assist with the integration of MITRE's Missile Defense work programs across Army, Navy, Air Force, MDA, and GDA.
- Develop and nurture relationships with senior leaders (General Officers, Senior Executive Staff, and their most influential subordinates) with the goal of serving as trusted advisor and guiding the respective work programs to achieve strategic goals established in concert with these leaders. Make MITRE indispensable to these senior leaders.
- Collaborate with division directors, department managers and project leaders to define a high impact work program enabling MITRE to bring differentiated value.
- Directly contribute to the work program to deliver impact in terms of both division objectives and sponsor mission outcomes.
- Align outcomes towards MNS Cross Cutting Priorities, Build Deep Priorities, and the OSD Work Program Strategy and collaborate with priority leads.
- Assist project leaders in identifying the necessary talent and resources necessary to execute our work.
- Provide regular, useful, timely, and complete feedback to department managers on the performance of staff supporting Army IAMD efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, Mathematics, or equivalent and 12+ years of related experience, or 10 years and a Master's Degree, or PhD with 7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Deep technical background in disciplines of relevance in one or more of the following: missile systems, radar systems, communications, command and control, fire control, and/or networking.
- Demonstrated expertise of missile and air defense systems, enterprise systems engineering, C4I, electronic warfare, communications, sensors, and capability integration at the enterprise/dept of defense level
- Strong analytical skills with experience in operational and technical assessments of Army Integrated Fires systems.
- Experience in supporting joint, interagency, and coalition interoperability challenges.
- Experience and proven results utilizing mission engineering to support portfolio level decisions
- Proven experience engaging senior sponsors with successful impacts and outcomes, and establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships
- Established track record in leading the delivery of data-driven technical products with the military warfighting domain, resulting in positive mission impact.
- Demonstrated ability to take risks and lead work with partial insights, and operate effectively autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to build collaboration across organizational units.
- Experience managing large technically diverse team
- Demonstrates collaboration and communication skills to support individual, team, and customer-related interaction.
- A desire to continually learn and master new concepts and technologies.
- Strong critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills - comfortable working in dynamic settings where task objectives may evolve or need to be shaped, or creative solutions to task impediments must be identified.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment, establish and leverage a diverse professional network, and integrate contributions from a variety of resources (people, tools, organizations).
- This position requires a minimum of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, Mathematics, natural/applied sciences, cyber security, or data sciences.
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Demonstrated MITRE project and people leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading analytical/assessment efforts and yielding impactful results at high levels of government and/or industry.
- Deep technical understanding of Army and missile defense systems to conduct effective tradeoff analysis of cost, schedule, and performance impacts to develop and prioritize recommendations.
- Knowledge of the electronic warfare efforts, Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) and its components.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports, present briefings, and persuasively speak to audiences of all backgrounds, including executives or senior customers.
- Prior experience developing or assessing Army systems or operations, reflected by:
- Working knowledge of Army organizations, missions, roles/responsibilities, and relationships.
