Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer II to support the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions for mission-critical government programs. This role applies advanced knowledge of software engineering, computer science, and information technology principles to develop innovative solutions that meet unique customer requirements. The successful candidate will work independently on complex assignments, contribute to technical decision-making, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. This position may also serve as a technical lead or project leader, interfacing directly with government stakeholders and supporting the creation of technical documentation, reports, and other deliverables.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions supporting government mission requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and system artifacts.
- Support cloud-based and containerized application development efforts.
- Contribute to Agile development activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
- Interface with government customers and program stakeholders to support project execution and mission success.

Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. Candidates with an active Public Trust clearance or higher may be considered if eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or approved comparable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively through written and verbal communication.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications.
- Experience implementing and supporting event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles.
- Practical experience working in Agile environments utilizing the Scrum framework.
- Experience designing and implementing modern user interfaces and user experiences.
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification.
- Scrum-related developer certifications and demonstrated Agile development experience.
- Kubernetes certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
- Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes and related technologies.
