The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality evaluation systems, inspection processes, and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This role supports manufacturing, production, and repair activities through product inspections, quality audits, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams and government customers.

Job Description
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality evaluation systems, inspection processes, and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This role supports manufacturing, production, and repair activities through product inspections, quality audits, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams and government customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, inspection methods, and evaluation procedures.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure product compliance.
- Perform product inspections, acceptance reviews, and customer sell-off activities.
- Create and manage non-conformance reports and corrective action activities.
- Support rework, repair, and production hardware/software processing activities.
- Prepare and submit documentation packages for customer and DCMA review.
- Conduct daily ESD checks and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support configuration management, hardware configuration reporting, and quality audits.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and government representatives.
- Utilize inspection tools including microscopes, calipers, scanners, printers, and other measurement equipment.
- Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technical Discipline, or related field.
- 4-6+ years of quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience, or equivalent technical experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and utilize company quality and data management systems.
- Experience working independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Experience with product inspection, non-conformance processing, and customer acceptance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Previous Quality Assurance Engineering experience.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements.
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems and quality auditing.
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience in a defense contracting environment.
- Experience with AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Experience manufacturing complex electronic assemblies.
- Experience presenting products to customers for acceptance.
- Knowledge of configuration control and hardware configuration reporting.
- Experience participating in RCCA activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Typically 4-8 years of related quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
