Systems Administrator 

Clearance Level:  Must have a Top Secret/SCI clearance to be considered for this role.

Aquila Technology is looking for a highly skilled System Administrator to support one of the nation’s leading defense research organizations.  The team is seeking a Sr. Linux System Administrator to support both classified/unclassified development, implement and enhance critical infrastructure and support end user workstations.

Responsibilities:
Perform various system administration duties in multiple physical and virtual Linux environments. Build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. Assist in design, implementation, support, and troubleshooting Linux issues relating to performance, compliance and security hardening. The ideal candidate will have a deep understating of Linux concepts, including file system management, service management, and interfacing with third party hardware. This candidate must also have a fundamental understanding of storage administration, virtualization technologies and basic networking concepts. The ideal candidate will see tasks through to completion under minimal supervision while also providing server and desktop level support to the group as well as various programs/projects

Must Have
  • Clearance Level: Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • 6 years – Linux server/workstation administration
  • 6 years – Operating System (OS) platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows)
  • 6 years – Scripting Experience: Python, Ansible, TCL or Bash
  • 3 years – DoD STIGs and SCAP
  • 5 years – Administering classified Linux systems
  • 6 years – Configure and Maintain a Number of Linux Systems Utilizing Scripting Languages and Automation Tools
  • 3 years – Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities
  • 3 years – Experience with DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools
  • 6 years – Experience working in a UNIX based environment with familiarity of UNIX based scripting
  • 5 years – Linux OS and scripting
  • 10 years – Linux troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • 5 years – MS Active Directory, LDAP
  • 5 years – Redhat Linux Systems Administration
  • 4 years – Red Hat Satellite to support Linux systems
  • 6 years – Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data
  • 6 years – Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration)

Nice to Have

Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree – The team willing to trade the Bachelor’s Degree for related applicable experience. So, the Bachelor’s is preferred and not a must have.

Experience (6+ years) implementing and supporting Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora preferred) :
  • Experience implementing and supporting Linux in R&D Lab environment( IE- troubleshooting third party Linux drivers)
  • Experience managing RedHat Satellite
  • Experience managing CheckMK
  • Experience implementing and utilizing DevOps CM toolsets (Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
  • Experience migrating various distributions and versions under one umbrella
  • Proven ability to automate tasks, build, and develop scripts (language agnostic)
  • Knowledge of account management using OpenLDAP, SSSD, IPA/IDM etc
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting of complex/distributed networks and systems (logs, dmesg etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of Linux security hardening principles and best practices (STIGs, RMF, NISPOM, CMMC, etc.)
  • Experience providing system and hardware level support on Dell Server/Desktop technology as well as end user support
  • Proven ability to learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
  • Research into new technologies that can enhance productivity for us or our customers
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Document IT procedures

Team members must achieve a grade of “B” or better to qualify for reimbursement.Aquila will reimburse up to $5,000 per fiscal year for tuition expenses only. Expenses related to training programs, certifications, books, materials, meals, transportation, or other non-tuition costs are not eligible under the Tuition Reimbursement Program. All tuition reimbursement requests must be submitted to and approved by the team member’s Manager prior to course registration. Reimbursement will be issued upon successful course completion and submission of final grades and proof of payment.

401K with Fidelity – Eligible to participate following 90 days of employment. Company match on employee contribution:
  • $1/$1 up to 3%, then .50 cents / $1 for 4th and 5th %s
  • Fully vested from day one
  • Company match does not apply to catch-up contribution

Cell Phone & Internet Reimbursedup to $150 monthly to cover cell phone, data, and home internet expenses. Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.

Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.

Clearance: Due to the nature of the work, candidate must possess TS/SCI in order to be submitted.

Location: Candidate should expect to be onsite 4 days/wk to work on classified tasks, with one day remote.
