Title: Business Analyst II
Duration: 06 - 12+ Months of contract with possibility of extension
Location: Remote
Rate: $40 - $50/Hr on W2
Description:
The Business Analyst II plays a crucial role in product management and requirements gathering. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving, close attention to detail, customer focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a SAFe Agile environment. The Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the product manager, product owners, business owners, and internal scrum teams to deliver business value in support of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs.

Description:
The Business Analyst II plays a crucial role in product management and requirements gathering. The Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the product manager, product owners, business owners, and internal scrum teams to deliver business value in support of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and organize requirements into stories under epics, generate acceptance criteria, lead refinement sessions, and work with Product Owners on prioritization.
- Work with external teams on timelines and raise risks appropriately.
- Work with internal and external project stakeholders and team to refine the priorities within the product backlog.
- Record meeting minutes and key decisions and distribute them to the team for subsequent review with the customer.
- Maintain continuous communication with the customer, project SMEs, and key stakeholders to collect and document business requirements in support of their vision.
- Contribute to project documentation.
- Design and develop future-state business processes and workflows by leveraging industry-standard modeling tools
- Review test scenarios and work with team to include any missed impact points.
- Understand project delivery mechanisms and ensure owned stories/epics are tracked to closure.
- Track customer requirements from inception through delivery.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Be comfortable with technical details to be able to create technical stories and enablers.
- Analyze data to understand business problems and opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks and impacts of proposed solutions.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for implemented solutions.
- Collaborate with the development team to prioritize and resolve production support issues.
- Assist the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Possess knowledge of Agile methodology (such as Scrum) and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills, as well as proficiency in documentation.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner.
- Have experience creating detailed reports and presenting information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Possess expertise in using JIRA and Confluence for managing requirements.
- Experience in modelling tools like Visio, Mural and Lucidchart etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment and deadline-driven environment.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness, and thorough communication.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
PREFERED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
- Experience and/or knowledge of CMS programs, processes, and standards.
