Job Description
Markon is seeking a System Engineer Level 3 to provide technical leadership for the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of mission-critical communications and networking systems for the Fort Meade Customer. This role leads the implementation of packet-based hardware and software solutions utilizing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) technologies while driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components. The position serves as a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring interoperability, operational performance, system reliability, and mission success across complex enterprise environments.

USD $200,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of packet-based hardware and software systems
- Provide technical leadership across all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle
- Drive end-to-end systems integration efforts across hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components
- Develop and evaluate system architectures, technical solutions, and engineering strategies
- Lead requirements analysis, system design reviews, and technical assessments
- Oversee system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities
- Ensure interoperability, performance, reliability, and security of deployed solutions
- Coordinate with Government stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and mission partners to support program objectives
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, implementation plans, and technical roadmaps
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on systems engineering best practices
- Support technology modernization and system enhancement initiatives
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with ths customer
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field required
- 20+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex communications, networking, or enterprise technology environments
- Experience leading the design, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of packet-based systems
- Extensive experience with COTS and GOTS hardware and software solutions
- Strong experience driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components
- Experience developing system architectures, technical roadmaps, and engineering solutions
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and lifecycle processes
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating with senior stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment supporting critical operations
