Job Description
Markon is seeking a Network Engineer Level 1 to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure for the Fort Meade Customer. This role supports network operations and engineering activities involving routers, switches, VLANs, and TCP/IP-based networks. The position is responsible for ensuring reliable network performance through hands-on support of network hardware, cabling, configuration management, and infrastructure deployments.

USD $100,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and related hardware
- Support network deployments, upgrades, and technology refresh efforts
- Perform network configuration and troubleshooting activities utilizing Cisco IOS and related technologies
- Configure and maintain VLANs, TCP/IP networking, Ethernet services, and network routing protocols
- Support equipment installation, racking, stacking, cabling, and hardware integration activities
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity, configuration, and operational issues
- Assist with network documentation, diagrams, and configuration management activities
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to support network availability and reliability
- Support system testing, implementation, and operational readiness activities
- Ensure compliance with established network and security standards
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with ths customer
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
- Five (5) years of network engineering experience required
- IAT Level I certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, Network+, or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification)
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies and Cisco IOS
- Experience configuring and supporting VLANs, switches, routers, and TCP/IP networks
- Experience with network installation, racking, stacking, and cabling activities
- Strong understanding of Ethernet networking and network configuration principles
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher) preferred
- Network+ certification preferred if not used to satisfy IAT requirements
