About This Role
We're seeking a DevOps-focused Software Engineer to build, automate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines behind secure software and data solutions for an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, VA. Working in the Sponsor's AWS cloud environment, you'll define infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, build and ship Docker-based services, automate workflows with AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, and SQS, and program in Java and Python to solve mission collection challenges. You'll partner closely with application developers and mission teams to turn operational needs into reliable, repeatable infrastructure and deployment solutions.
Compensation
$200,000 - $220,000 (depending on experience)

TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Poly (client not considering upgrades)
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK)
Build, containerize, and deploy services using Docker images and AWS container services
Automate cloud workflows and deployments by integrating AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, and SQS
Work with application developers to identify and implement infrastructure and deployment requirements
Leverage a background in programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking to solve collection needs in cloud environments
Translate mission needs into technical requirements and convey how a technical solution will deliver mission results
Prioritize work based on mission need and document and communicate technical and non-technical requirements for all audiences
Collaborate with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries and make informed recommendations on project requirements
Requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
Experience with the Sponsor's AWS cloud environment
Programming experience in Java and Python
Experience in Systems Administration
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining secure web applications on the Sponsor's network
Experience designing, developing, querying, and maintaining ElasticSearch/AWS OpenSearch and related technologies
Experience writing and tuning complex queries against structured and unstructured data sets using both SQL and ElasticSearch/OpenSearch query languages
Experience integrating AWS services including Lambdas, SNS, SQS, etc., in the Sponsor's environment
Demonstrated experience with Python
Demonstrated experience with Linux shell scripting
Demonstrated experience building Docker containers and images
Demonstrated experience with cloud services, including Lambda functions and layers, S3, Batch, EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, IAM roles, DynamoDB, and container services
Demonstrated experience using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK) — CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar are NOT substitutes for CDK experience
Demonstrated experience transforming data in various file formats into common formats, such as JSON, CSV, or XML
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with reverse engineering tools, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, or APKtool
Demonstrated experience with multiple cloud providers
Demonstrated experience with other programming languages besides Python
