Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Contract Administrator/Contract Administrator to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals to support its Sector Contract Closeout Team. What You'll Get to Do
The Principal Contract Administrator/Contract Administrator will provide contract closeout support across all Defense Systems divisions. This role reports to the Contract Closeout Manager.
Defense Systems sector is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Contract/Contract Administrator to lead contract closeout activities across the division. This role is responsible for all contract closeout functions and will be involved in project management, operations, planning, data analytics, reporting, and interfacing with key internal stakeholders. The individual will serve as the focal point for contract closeout matters and must demonstrate the ability to perform multiple tasks independently with minimal oversight.
This position requires solid written and verbal communication skills and will represent the organization on contract closeout matters. The role involves frequent interaction with internal and senior internal stakeholders on significant issues, often requiring coordination across organizations. The candidate will be asked to develop and present briefings/presentations.

Roles and responsibilities of this position will interface with the DCMA office, and other USG and Commercial customers on contract closeout matters and customer requests. Facilitate the administrative closeout of contracts by monitoring and coordinating the required closeout requirements with functional departments and ensure the timely closure of contracts according to FAR. Responsibilities also include reporting monthly and weekly reporting metrics and any issues related to closing these contracts.

In this autonomous role, you will manage project-closeout planning, operations, data analytics, and reporting while maintaining robust relationships with internal and external customers to negotiate settlements, coordinate fund cancellations, and ensure compliance with contractual clauses and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include directing responses to customer closeout requests, updating system of record, maintaining closeout trackers on closeout assigned population, producing weekly and monthly metrics, and presenting weekly and monthly briefings to leadership. Solid written and verbal communication skills, the ability to handle complex tasks with minimal oversight, and a commitment to adhering to company policies are essential.
Primary Level Salary Range: $72,400.00 - $108,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Maintain excellent working relationships with customers to effectively communicate, administer closeout modification, negotiate quick closeout settlements, and coordinate canceling funds actions with internal and external customer
- Drive final administrative closeout activities in compliance or accordance with contract clauses, ensuring required closeout certifications are obtained from all functional organizations
- Maintain and update contract closeout documentation and official program records, including contractual documents and correspondence
- Prepare and report monthly metrics and interface with government and commercial customers regarding physically complete contracts pending administrative closeout or related issues
- Lead data management activities for the Contract Closeout team, including compiling and reporting division-level closeout metrics
- Perform all duties in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Basic Qualifications (Principal Contract Administrator - Level 3):
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related professional experience, or 3 years with a master's degree; Or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu.
- Experience working with FAR and DFAR
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing a range of contracts, encompassing multiple contract types
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to promptly answer questions and guiding to resolution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic Qualifications (Contract Administrator - Level 2):
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related professional experience, or 0 years with a master's degree; Or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu.
