The successful candidate will excel working as part of a technical team of software and integration engineers who successfully integrate, test, and deploy complex systems to the customer.
What does this role look like?
As a Systems Integration and Test Engineer on
the Space Based Infrared System program you
will:
• Work on software integration projects that will
vary from satellite command and control
software, to satellite payload sensor
management software, to mission specific
software, to ground hardware & network control
software
• Integrate into a small, high-performing team
• Review and evaluate test requirements to
ensure completeness of test program
• Independently author formal test procedures,
standard operating procedures, and data reports
Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain
solutions for the integration and testing
components, elements, subsystems, and
systems
• Establish functional and technical specifications
and standards, solves hardware/software
interface problems, defines input/output
parameters, and ensures integration of the entire
system or subsystem
• Review, evaluate, and derive requirements for
testability, develop and direct preparation and
execution of comprehensive test plans,
procedures and schedules for complete systems
and/or subsystems
• Perform analysis of test results and prepares
comprehensive subsystem and/or system level
evaluation reports which verify and validate
system performance
• Write discrepancy reports and performs
integration regression testing to verify/validate
incorporated fixes to software, components,
subsystems, and systems
• Relentlessly pursue continuous improvement,
emphasize outcomes over metrics, and be a
good teammate
• Be able to interpret complex system
requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Extensive background in integration, test, and
verification processes
• Experience applying systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, design reviews, and CONOPS development
• Experience working across the full software
development lifecycle
• Experience supporting satellite, spacecraft, or
ground software systems
• Must have an active or current Top Secret clearance (or DoE equivalent) with the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI, thus US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting the SBIRS program and
collaborating effectively with its customer community
• Extensive experience authoring and defending white papers and other technical documentation
• Demonstrated success in requirements-driven design and system development
• Proven leadership skills across teams and project scales
• 6+ years of experience in satellite, spacecraft, and ground system industries
• Experience in software and test automation, including containerization, CI/CD, and
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
