THE WORK
As a Network Engineer on this program you will:
• Deploy, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and network gear in deployable communication kits.
• Monitor LAN/WAN performance, troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and packet-loss issues, and provide on-call support for critical events.
• Implement core networking technologies (VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, multicast) and contribute to design reviews, upgrades, and project deployments.
• Work closely with other engineers to craft network architectures and execute field installations, which may include travel to remote sites and independent troubleshooting.
• Mentor and guide junior network engineers

WHO YOU ARE
You are a senior-level network engineer with at least ten years of hands-on experience designing, testing, and supporting multi-vendor LAN/WAN environments. You possess:
• Deep knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Strong expertise with firewalls, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and multicast traffic.
• Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis, document resolutions, and create clear technical reports and presentations (PowerPoint, Visio).
• Required certifications, an active Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a passport for international travel.

Basic Qualifications:
Specifically, the position requires the following:
• Experience with ISP-like IP network infrastructure maintenance and operation
• Experience with hands-on configuration of Protocols such as MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Multicast, QoS, STP, VTP and VLAN's, Gateway Redundancy Protocols like HSRP, VRRP, and GLRP
• Experience with VLSM CIDR IP addressing design and implementation
• Experience with configuration of encryption and security solutions such as IPSec, VPN, Suite B, firewall rules, access control lists.
• Integration of Network Devices with centralized Network Services such as LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Authorities
• Implementation experience of Network Management concepts within network devices such as SNMPv3, Syslog, OID filtering
• Implementation experience of Facility switch aggregation and Data Center network design patterns
• Experience with Network troubleshooting techniques (CLI-based) and tools (Wireshark, tcpdump etc.)
• Experience/knowledge of the complete range of network design drawings used for specification, fabrication, assembly, wiring, inspection, and installation of equipment
Experience with secure and reliable networks and
network management
• Experience integrating with sensors and weapons,
including occasional troubleshooting and reverse
engineering
• Strong system engineering skills with an emphasis
on software-intensive systems and system of systems
integration
• Experience in international programs, preferably
direct commercial sales, firm fixed price
Familiarity with cyber security and multiple security
enclaves
• Experience with fixed and mobile command centers,
including supporting coalition / expeditionary
operations
• Strong communication skills, including
communicating with customers whose first language
is Arabic
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Willing to take an expatriate assignment for 2-3 years

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
