SUMMARY:
The Junior Engineer will work directly with the Government personnel in meeting the engineering needs of the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Applies engineering principles and practices to support the instrumentation planning for the RDT&E of weapons systems.
• Attends instrumentation, data collection and processing meetings where test program requirements are defined and assists in the development of pre- and post-test accuracy statements.
• Evaluates instrumentation performance under varying environmental conditions and new or modified operating conditions or configurations.
• Designs strategies and plan instrumentation positioning that enable data acquisition efforts while projecting instrumentation from the hazards created during the conduct of laboratory and field tests.
• Provides Data Acquisition inputs to Test Plans including specifying traceability of all data requirements to specific test objectives.
• Performs project work through knowledge of engineering practices and policies, and to devise new approaches to resolve problems.
• Operates with general instructions in an independent mode and receives guidance on special problems or when requested.
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, and makes minor adaptations and modifications.
• Provides independent and professional support on portions of complex projects.
• Specific assignment objectives, approaches, and possible solutions are reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
• Independently performs a project assignment that involves complex features and can be guided by codes, standards, and other precedents of the discipline.
• Analyzes and/or evaluates the results of an analysis using techniques prescribed by senior engineers or supervisors.
• Accomplishes tasks of which require investigation of many variables.
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Three (3) years of experience in any work environment.
• Experience working collaboratively as a member of a project team.
• Solid foundation in the principles and practices of aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or systems engineering.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to think critically and solve complex problems within the T&E process.
• Completion of relevant internships or co-op programs dealing with the concepts of T&E preferred.
• Familiarity with specific engineering standards and regulations preferred.

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
