SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician II will work directly with the Government personnel in meeting the technical needs of the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for Data Acquisition and Analysis in support of Weapons Systems and Munitions Testing.
• Capable of working cohesively with Government, Military, and fellow contractor personnel as a team member in a collaborative environment.
• Maintains test records/logs/data.
• Provides technical input on current test planning, execution, and reporting activities.
• Points out deviations and providing recommendations for remediation.
• Notes/observes equipment malfunctions.
• Observes and reports safety hazards to onsite safety personnel.
• Applies scientific skill and knowledge gained from previous technical coursework or experience, on the job training, mentorship and/or individual study.
• Reviews test documentation to assess adequacy, objectives and system test/system checkout procedures with respect to criteria based on appropriate military standards.
• Prepares Test Incident Reports (TIRs) documenting mission timeline.
• Records deviations from procedure and equipment failure/anomalies.
• Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Monitors test events to assess test conformity with approved test plans.
• Provides updates where discrepancies are observed.
• Maintains logs (written and/or digital) to record equipment failure, data collection problems and deviations from planned procedures.
• Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.
• Follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments.
• Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion and non-routine work may be reviewed in progress.
• Follows specific instructions.
• Assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts.
• Services or repairs simple instruments or equipment.
• Adjusts and operates equipment.
• Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources.
• Processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry.
• Presents the data in prescribed form.
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent, with some vocational or technical training is desired.
• Three (3) years of experience performing standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, following standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments.
• Proven technical assembly and troubleshooting skills for standard test equipment.
• Ability to perform basic instrument repair and maintenance procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of testing procedures and data acquisition techniques relevant to T&E.
• Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data recording, equipment maintenance, and testing procedures within the T&E process.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and train lower-level technicians, ensuring technical standards are upheld throughout the teams.
• Military experience preferred.
• Prior experience working in a T&E environment preferred.
• Involvement in testing and troubleshooting military-grade systems preferred.
