Job Description
Position: Mid-Level or Senior-Level Systems Engineer
International Systems Management Corp. (ISM) is seeking a qualified individual for a Mid-Level or Senior-Level Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to the US Navy. The selected individual will provide subject matter expertise US Navy flight systems.
Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Math or Science Discipline with at least five (5) years of professional experience and Secret Department of Defense (DOD) issued clearance. Additional required experience: proficiency with Microsoft Office Products; strong communication skills (oral and written); and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required experience includes:
• Experienced with Missile Thermal Protection Systems (TPS), including materials designed to protect missile structures and payloads from extreme aerothermodynamic heating;
• Design studies, specifications, and evaluations associated with research, development, production, and operations;
• Support transition of research and developmental efforts into production, and management of technical activities;
• Support research and development objectives for flight systems utilizing multiple engineering disciplines;
• Review and provide feedback on technical documentation submissions;
• Support problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems;
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for identified cost, schedule, and technical issues.
• Support the identification, tracking, and resolution of systems engineering issues related to technical interfaces, technology insertion/design improvements, and other program initiatives;
• Facilitate timely decisions and review and adjudication of all design products and written correspondence;
• Prepare technical presentations, briefings, reports, and white papers to support technical design reviews and technical review boards;
• Configuration management planning including experience with change control management, configuration status accounting, and configuration auditing.
Desired experience includes:
• Provide assessments and recommendations on system development, improvements, optimization, and support efforts;
• Provide recommendations for defense system procedures considering system capacity, limitations, operating time, and performance objectives;
• Conduct assessments and make recommendations for program design, testing, and documentation utilizing all phases of research application, analysis, and programming and research analysis techniques;
• Risk assessments and analysis utilizing modeling and simulation techniques;
• Experience with information assurance including identification of security risks, threats and vulnerabilities.
The ideal candidate is dynamic and proactive in meeting customer needs and has the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate activities across numerous organizations. The position will be located in Washington, DC and will require travel approximately 20% of the time. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
