JOB SUMMARY:
The Composite Technician III performs advanced composite fabrication, assembly, and repair on aircraft structures and components. This role requires deep expertise in complex lay-ups, curing processes, and precision trimming/finishing operations. The Composite Technician III serves as a technical leader on the team, supports process improvements, and works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production leadership to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

The hourly range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00. JOB SUMMARY:
The Composite Technician III performs advanced composite fabrication, assembly, and repair on aircraft structures and components. This role requires deep expertise in complex lay-ups, curing processes, and precision trimming/finishing operations. The Composite Technician III serves as a technical leader on the team, supports process improvements, and works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production leadership to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, repair, modification, and refurbishment of aircraft composite structures in accordance with approved engineering and maintenance documentation.
- Execute composite repairs including bonded repairs, laminate repairs, core repairs, wet layups, vacuum bagging, and adhesive bonding operations.
- Remove, replace, and install structural components, hardware, bonded assemblies, and aircraft subassemblies as required.
- Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, maintenance manuals, and repair procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Conduct damage assessments and identify structural discrepancies including cracks, delamination, disbonding, corrosion, wear, and impact damage.
- Complete required maintenance records, repair documentation, and inspection reports in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform aircraft disassembly, reassembly, operational checks, and support return-to-service activities following maintenance actions.
- Maintain compliance with quality, safety, configuration control, and workmanship standards while ensuring proper handling of composite materials and repair consumables.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Production personnel to resolve repair-related issues and support aircraft readiness objectives.
- Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant composite fabrication/repair experience
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Highly skilled in the use of tooling and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to quality and process compliance
- Proven ability to work independently and lead efforts within a cross-functional team environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced production setting
- Completion of recurring FOD training and awareness requirements (upon hire and annually)
- Must be able to obtain a DOT physical and haul trailers to and from offsite location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in composites manufacturing or repair in aerospace, defense, or similar industries
- Experience supporting or leading production teams or mentoring junior technicians
- Familiarity with military aviation operations and standard.

Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Perceiving differences in wire and indicator light colors
- Operating hand and power tools
- Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds
- Working in confined spaces and around aircraft
- Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required.
