Senior O&M Mechanical Engineerneeded for a Direct Hire opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Indian Head, MD.
*Candidates must have an Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one to be considered for this role*
This position is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to independently develop mechanical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings at a federal site. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the operations and maintenance of building mechanical equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and blowers. This is a multi-year project which will be based at Indian Head, Maryland.

Job Description:

- Plan, implement, ormonitorpreventative maintenance programs (e.g., inspections, testing, and maintenance) thatcomply withfederal and local requirements and industry codes, standards, and guidelines
- Provide engineering support toward documenting and/or troubleshooting operational issues with mechanical equipment
- Identifyand work to proactively resolve any compliance issues
- Identifyand document potential capital improvement projects necessary to improve operations by conducting site visits to document existing conditions, developing new requirements based on planned use, and creating preliminary scopes or budgetary cost estimates
- Perform mechanical design reviews for facility improvement projects provided by third-party or in-house design efforts
- Assess compliance of design packages with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), codes, and regulations as well as end-user requirements
- Knowledge and experience working with related equipment and systems such as HVAC, pumps, compressors, and blowers
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external
- Serve as a project manager on some assigned projects
Required Qualifications and Skills:

- ABachelor'sdegree orMaster's Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor related field
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but notrequired
- At least eight years of experience with a mechanical engineering degree or at least ten years of relevant experience and a degree in another engineering discipline
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Process Control Systems such as programmable logic controller (PLC) ladder logic and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming is a plus
- Specific experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens systems is a plus
- Knowledge to apply engineering skills toward process equipment, facility operations, and maintenance
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
