Summary:

Do you want to join a high-impact team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and help the nation achieve one of its most critical missions? The MDA Program Division seeks an exceptional business professional to be our MDA Operations manager. As the N260 MDA Operations Manager you will be a core member of the leadership team, working closely with the Managing Director, Chief Engineer s , Department Manager s , and Project and Capability Area Leads to manage and execute MITRE's work program for optimal impact on MDA's mission and capabilities. The position will lead and manage the relationship with the MDA FFRDC Program Coordinator , facilitate project planning and execution , and facilitate cross-division operations .

Roles & Responsibilities:

The role will consist of three core functions:

Leading MDA FFRDC Program Coordinator Relationship: Managing the relationship directly with the MDA Government Program Lead (GPL) to include managing the Project Work Statement (PWS), funding and contracting, defense dollar ceiling (DDC) execution and planning, and other functions in conjunction with project leads to execute and initiate new projects and onboard new MITRE staff to MDA. This requires day-to-day interface with sponsors and internal customers to develop trusted working relationships. This includes providing timely, accurate execution reports as well as responses to routine and ad hoc data calls from MDA.

Division Execution: Lead and assist all division execution and reviews, partnering closely with project leads and division leadership staff, to include working with project leads on using budgeting and staffing tools, assessing MDA health and delivery, assessing delivery shortfalls, pipeline management, managing division indirect charge codes, and supporting forecasting and program review with center, sector, and corporate leadership. This requires developing clear and concise dashboards and other reporting mechanisms to assess program execution health.

Division Operations: Additional duties include MDA division representation to center operations, managing center/sector taskers and other data calls, managing strategic-level division taskers, operating plan execution and assessment, developing and maintaining a division knowledge management approach, curating senior sponsor and stakeholder engagement materials, assisting in hiring with department heads and group leads, and other activities as needed. You will ensure we comply with all sponsor and MITRE requirements and set the standard for operational excellence within the corporation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Experience in finance and/or accounting experience within the US Federal Government practice of a professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated strong business and financial acumen, operational management program integration
  • Experience working on government contracts, as well as good knowledge of CAS/FAR
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, operational partners, sponsor-facing stakeholders
  • Ability to obtian and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Experience supporting division-, sector, or enterprise-level operations within MITRE, an FFRDC, or government environment.
  • Experience working with MDA sponsor
  • Knowledge of MITRE internal processes, workflows, and operational tools
  • Familiarity with Clarity, Salesforce, Tableau, or similar portfolio and business intelligence tools
  • Proven track record of expanding the scope of one's job and acquiring/applying new skills

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$151,500 - $189,500 - $227,500 Annual
