Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer (Electronics Engineer III – Avionics) to support the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Life Extension (D5LE) Avionics / Test Missile Kit (TMK) engineering. In this role, you will perform electronics design, troubleshooting, and failure investigation for high-reliability avionics hardware, including circuit card assemblies and electronic packages used in strategic missile systems. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on lab experience, demonstrated failure-analysis skills, and the ability to lead technical work within a multidisciplinary missile systems engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform investigations of hardware failures during acceptance testing at part, circuit card assembly (CCA), and package levels.
Apply circuit design and troubleshooting principles to develop new and improve existing avionics electronics hardware.
Assess, troubleshoot, and analyze existing avionics hardware to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Perform circuit simulation and modeling using tools such as ORCAD PSPICE or equivalent.
Create and maintain electronic drawings and documentation, including schematics and hardware design artifacts for avionics packages.
Participate in technical reviews and audits, presenting findings and recommendations to peers and leadership.
Support all aspects of avionics electronic package design, development, integration, test, and verification, including requirements development and flow-down.
Work with subject matter experts to understand the hardware and system-level behavior, and contribute to system-level investigations and tests at customer and supplier sites.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a group of junior electronics engineers on assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combined education/experience.
3+ years of professional experience (or 3+ years with a Master’s degree) in electronics engineering.
Experience with circuit design, troubleshooting, and/or circuit analysis.
Experience performing failure investigations on electronic hardware at CCA, unit, and/or system levels.
Experience troubleshooting hardware using schematics, drawings, or simulation tools.
Experience or coursework using common lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, etc.).
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent teaming, communication, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate failure analysis, complex design information, and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with design and/or analysis of PCBs/PWBs or Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
Design experience using major ECAD tools such as Mentor, Cadence, Altium, or Zuken.
Experience performing circuit modeling and analysis with tools such as ORCAD PSPICE.
Experience performing electronics analyses such as Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, and Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis (FMECA).
Adaptable to new situations with demonstrated self-initiative in solving complex problems.
Experience or willingness to lead teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Experience on space and/or missile defense missions.
