Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite Only)
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: $122,900–$216,660 (most locations); up to $244,835 in major metro areas (experience/location dependent)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer V – GNC Hardware Development Technical Lead to support the THAAD Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) missile product portfolio. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and oversight for the development of state-of-the-art avionics and GNC electronics hardware, including infrared seeker systems, digital signal processing and control systems, inertial measurement systems, and electromechanical control actuation systems. You will serve as a senior technical leader, coordinating development across multiple suppliers and internal teams to ensure performance, producibility, and mission success.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve as the GNC Hardware Development Technical Lead for THAAD missile GNC products, overseeing design and development of multiple electronics hardware units.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to Certified Principal Engineers / Responsible Product Engineers and supplier engineering teams to resolve complex hardware issues.
Lead requirements and concept development for GNC electronics hardware, ensuring traceability and alignment with system-level needs.
Plan, facilitate, and present at formal design reviews and technical forums (e.g., PDR, CDR, FRB, MRB, ERB, QRB), representing the GNC hardware team.
Oversee development testing and hardware qualification, including test planning, execution oversight, and disposition of test anomalies.
Lead discrepancy resolution and technical troubleshooting of complex electronic systems across unit, subsystem, and system levels.
Support producibility, affordability, performance enhancements, and obsolescence-driven re-designs of GNC electronics hardware.
Coordinate with external vendors and diverse internal stakeholders across systems, software, test, manufacturing, and program management.
Provide technical input to planning, cost estimates, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies related to GNC electronics development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combined education/experience.
8+ years of professional experience in electronics engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability environments.
Demonstrated experience in electronics design, including FPGAs, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), and printed wiring boards (PWBs).
Experience as a Responsible Product Engineer, Certified Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical lead for an electrical hardware package.
Experience with high-reliability electronics across the full product lifecycle, including high-rate production and post-production support.
Demonstrated experience working with external vendors and diverse internal stakeholders.
Previous or current technical leadership experience on hardware development efforts.
Must have an active DoD Interim Secret or higher clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience leading teams through challenging engineering and programmatic issues, driving decisions and closure.
Demonstrated experience with design and/or analysis of PCB/PWB, CCAs, and FPGAs, including use of major ECAD tools (Mentor, Cadence, Altium, Zuken).
Ability to review PCB and assembly drawings for compliance with drafting standards, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), and change-management release processes.
Experience with Guidance, Navigation, or Control system hardware and a solid understanding of missile, launch vehicle, or spacecraft systems.
Technical experience in full life-cycle development of hardware, including design, integration, and test.
Experience performing failure analysis at CCA, unit, and system levels.
Familiarity with modeling and analysis tools such as OrCAD, PSPICE, and/or Saber, and a strong understanding of electronics standards and processes.
Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and communication skills, with experience presenting to peers, leadership, and customers.
Willingness to stretch into adjacent technical domains (e.g., thermal, chemical, structures, systems) as needed.
