Job Description

Description

AWS is looking for a Senior Manager to lead executive relationship strategy and execution for our Worldwide Public Sector Partners organization. AWS Partners are independent organizations-ranging from startups to global enterprises-that build, market, and sell solutions alongside AWS. These members of the AWS Partner Network leverage AWS technologies, funding, and tools to deliver specialized cloud services, consulting, and software solutions to customers worldwide.

This role focuses on building and leveraging senior-level relationships with defense and federal civilian Partners-from defense industrial base primes and defense technology companies to systems integrators and solution providers supporting government missions-turning those connections into meaningful business outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Global Executive Relations, this role operates at the intersection of government mission priorities and transformative technology. You'll work directly with AWS Partners' senior leadership to identify, cultivate, and activate executive relationships that open doors to defense and federal civilian customers, accelerating pipeline and revenue.

We're looking for someone with strong existing relationships across the defense and federal civilian Partner ecosystem-someone who understands how these agencies buy, how Partners win work, and how AWS fits into that equation. You thrive in complex, fast-moving environments, operate with discretion, and know how to translate executive relationships into measurable business outcomes

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
Build Relationships That Matter
• Identify and cultivate executive relationships with C-suite leaders, board members, and senior decision-makers across AWS Partners serving defense and federal civilian missions
• Map the AWS Partner landscape to pinpoint high-impact engagement opportunities tied directly to revenue opportunities
• Develop strategic relationships with think tanks, advisory firms, and industry organizations to expand AWS Partners' reach and influence in defense and federal civilian markets
Design and Deliver Executive Engagements
• Plan and execute high-impact engagements-from private executive meetings and roundtables to defense technology summits, Partner forums, and programming at major conferences-designed to convert one-time meetings into ongoing partnerships
• Prepare AWS Partners' executives for high-stakes moments: keynotes, panels, briefings, and one-on-one meetings with senior government and industry officials
• Support senior AWS Partners leaders with brand positioning, thought leadership, speaking engagements, media opportunities, and executive communications
• Represent AWS at key defense and federal civilian industry forums
Convert Relationships Into Business Outcomes
• Own the follow-up process after engagements-connecting government and industry executives with AWS Partner leads to align mission requirements with cloud solutions
• Track engagement outcomes and demonstrate clear ROI through pipeline contribution and revenue attribution

Basic Qualifications

- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- 8+ years in executive relations, government affairs, strategic communications, or business development, with prior government service in federal civilian or defense agencies or industry
- Familiarity with the defense industrial base, cloud technology landscape, and AWS Partner ecosystems
- Existing relationships at senior levels within federal civilian agencies (Secretary, Deputy Secretary, CIO, or equivalent) and/or the defense technology sector (C-suite)
- Deep knowledge of federal civilian and defense organizations' missions, priorities, and budgets
- Track record of designing executive engagement programs that produce measurable business results
- Experience positioning senior executives as thought leaders through speaking, media, and public communications

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of federal digital modernization priorities: cloud adoption, AI/ML, cybersecurity, zero trust
- Experience producing large-scale executive events-summits, forums, international gatherings
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking engagement and revenue attribution
- Bachelor's degree in business, political science, national security, or related field; advanced degree a plus
