Job Description
TEKsystems is seeking a Sr Linux Administrator to support a government program in Monterey, CA. The candidate will have 3+ years of experience in Linux administration, an active Top Secret clearance, and a CompTIA Security+.
This position is a stand-alone Linux Administrator supporting the Fleet Numerical Meterology and Oceangraphic Center . The overarching contract ICEBERG supports Infrastructure, IT System Administration, Network/Communications, and Cross Domain Solutions Cybersecurity IT Configuration Management (CM) IT Customer Interface Management (CIM) IT Requirements Managements IT Life Cycle Support IT Engineering Support IT Integration and Sustainment
This position requires:
- 3+ years of experience in the management of Linux operating system-based production servers and workstations, including OS and production software installation, patching, upgrading, and securing
- Experience with implementing Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIGs) for Linux operating systems and services, including documenting mitigation or remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities
- Experience with implementing documenting compliance with cybersecurity controls to support cybersecurity accreditation
- Experience with implementing, managing, analyzing, and interpreting data backup, system audit services, and logging
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• RHEL 7 and 8 (OS, servers, and workstations) troubleshooting system changes and patch installations
• RMF accreditation activities.
• Linux Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
• Agile methodologies and tools.
• script development and documentation tools and configurations with which the government is compatible (e.g., Naval LIFT, Perl, Python, MS Word 2016, PDF, etc.).
• BASH shell scripts and RHEL system configuration
• Apache Web Server
• RHEL RPM package creation
• OpenShift, Ansible, Puppet or similar tools
• Perl, Python, and C Programming
