Position Overview
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Assembler 2 to join our team in Madison, AL. In this role, you will perform a variety of production assembly operations ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks on electronic and mechanical assemblies. Position Overview
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Assembler 2 to join our team in Madison, AL. In this role, you will perform a variety of production assembly operations ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks on electronic and mechanical assemblies. This is an opportunity to work in a precision-driven environment contributing to high-quality, mission-critical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical components, including modules, boards, panels, frames, and cables
- Interpret and work from complex diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and saws to complete assemblies
- Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed work
- Perform quality inspections in accordance with specifications
- Disassemble, rework, modify, reassemble, and test assemblies and subassemblies
- Support prototype and experimental builds under simulated conditions
- Minimum of 2 years of related assembly experience
- Experience with soldering (J-Standard certification preferred), SMT (surface mount) components, or wire harness construction
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions
- Experience using microscopes for precision assembly tasks
- Experience assembling and troubleshooting Radio Frequency (RF) and/or CNI (Communication, Navigation, Identification) systems
- Experience reworking and modifying dense SMT circuit boards and prototype cables
- Strong proficiency using microscopes for small-part assembly
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as SAP, Solumina, or Tableau
- Familiarity with ESD, FOD, and ITAR/AS9100 standards and requirements
