Designs, prototypes, and deploys automation solutions that directly support Air Combat Command's operational mission. This is a hands-on development role. Write bots, test them with actual users, refine them based on operational feedback, and deliver solutions that Airmen use every day. Measured by throughput: a minimum ofâ¯three prototypes per quarterâ¯andâ¯two operational transitions per quarter, working in parallel with another RPA Developer to maintain continuous delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
RPA Prototyping & Development:
- Conduct workflow discovery interviews with ACC A589 personnel to identify automation opportunities.
- Assess A589 processes for automation potential using structured intake criteria (inputs, decision points, data sources, manual workload burden).
- Design and develop RPA solutions usingâ¯UiPathâ¯andâ¯Microsoft Power Automateâ¯on enterprise-approved platforms.
- Build functional prototypes withinâ¯2-4 week cyclesâ¯that users can test in realistic A589 mission contexts.
- Maintain a personal development pipeline of 2-3 concurrent use cases to sustain quarterly output targets.
Iterative Refinement & User Validation:
- Conductâ¯2-3 iterative refinement cyclesâ¯with A589 operational users before transitioning solutions.
- Incorporate A589 user feedback to improve bot accuracy, reliability, and usability.
- Test bots across appropriate classification levels (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, AFSCI as assigned).
- Validate solutions against real operational data and edge cases identified by users.
Solution Transition & Sustainment:
- Deliver complete technical documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration details, and data flow specifications.
- Create tailored user training packages and operational SOPs for each transitioned workflow.
- Developâ¯Government sustainment plansâ¯enabling ACC A589 personnel to maintain and enhance solutions independently.
- Provide all source code, configuration files, and integration specifications to the Government.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with Government personnel who will sustain the solution.
Cross-Wing Scaling & Collaboration:
- Document lessons learned and adaptation guidance for solutions that may benefit other ACC wings.
- Collaborate with AI/RPA ACC A589 Solutions Architect to identify cross-wing scaling opportunities.
- Contribute to the enterprise solution catalog organized by mission function.
- Support mobile training teams during wing visits to demonstrate transitioned RPA capabilities.
Location and Environment:
- Primary Work Location:â¯Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia .
- Classified Facilities: Regular work in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and secure spaces.
- Workspace:â¯Government-provided office space in secure facility; access to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and collaboration tools.
- Classified Work:â¯Regular access to classified environments (SIPRNet, AFSCI) required for coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Security Environment:
- Compliance with OPSEC, CUI handling, and classification protocols.
- Subject to security inspections, audits, and continuous evaluation.
- Adherence to base access, badge, and facility security requirements.
