Senior AWS Cloud Architect (Security & ATO Experience)
This role is for a Senior AWS Cloud Developer who brings strong hands-on engineering experience along with the ability to design and architect secure, enterprise-level solutions. The position focuses on building and optimizing AWS environments with an emphasis on DevSecOps, security, and infrastructure best practices, including IAM and network design. Candidates should have prior federal experience, including supporting ATO processes, and will contribute to advanced initiatives such as AI-driven cloud solutions while helping move systems from prototype to production in complex government environments.
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 9-month contract with potential extension
Clearance: Public Trust (required)
Due to Federal requirements candidates must be US Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Key Skills & Requirements
AWS Architecture & Infrastructure:
• Architect and design enterprise-level AWS environments across multiple stages (development, testing, production, research, etc.)
• Strong experience with:
o VPC design, subnetting, routing, NAT gateways, and security groups
o IAM policy design aligned with least privilege principles
• Optimize cloud environments for scalability, security, and performance
DevSecOps & Cloud Engineering:
• Hands-on experience in AWS DevSecOps / infrastructure-focused roles
• Strong understanding of secure cloud architecture and infrastructure best practices
ATO & Federal Experience:
• Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
• Prior federal/government experience required
AI & Advanced Solutions:
• Experience supporting AI implementation projects in cloud environments
Architecture & Solution Design:
• Ability to:
o Design reusable, secure cloud solutions
o Develop prototypes and transition them into production environments
o Align architecture with performance and governance requirements
Additional Requirements:
• Experience deploying, operationalizing, and maintaining government cloud solutions
• Ability to support complex environments including sandbox, analytics, research, and production systems
