Position Summary
Odyssey Systems is seeking a skilled and dependable Cyber Security Analyst to provide end-user and systems support across multiple sites. This role will report directly to the Director of IT and will serve as a key IT resource supporting a growing organization of approximately 300 indirect and 1800 direct employees.
The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organization. This role helps ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data by implementing and maintaining security tools, responding to incidents, and supporting security initiatives.
This position is Hybrid on-site Tuesday - Thursday at our Wakefield, MA HQ (frequent visits to Lincoln, MA office)

Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Monitor security alerts, logs, and events across SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, and cloud platforms.
- Conduct initial triage, investigation, and response to security incidents.
- Support threat hunting activities to proactively identify suspicious behavior or vulnerabilities.
- Analyze malware, phishing attempts, and other cyber threats to determine impact and remediation steps.
- Manage user access, identity controls, and privilege reviews.
- Assist with vulnerability scanning, patch management recommendations, and remediation tracking.
- Maintain and update security documentation, runbooks, and incident reports.
- Support compliance initiatives (e.g., NIST 800-171, SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI) as applicable.
- Participate in security awareness training and help educate end users on best practices.
- Provide input on improving security policies, tooling, and architecture.
Qualifications

Certifications:
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, or similar.

Technical Skills
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar), EDR platforms, and common security frameworks (NIST, CIS).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, and common attack vectors.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud security controls.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Experience with vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).
