LOCATION: HOLLYWOOD, MD
This position may be filled at different levels depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
This position is open to night shift schedules.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Performing and documenting inspections of manufacturing products and materials.

The hourly wage range for this position is $25.00 to $38.00. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education and training, job-related knowledge and skills, the scope and level of responsibility of the position, internal equity, and market/business considerations. PRIMARY FUNCTION
Performing and documenting inspections of manufacturing products and materials.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform detailed inspections of manufactured parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to engineering drawings, specifications, and approved data packages.
- Conduct incoming inspections, on raw materials, manufactured components, and outsourced processes.
- Document inspection results accurately on approved forms, records, and quality systems.
- Review and sign off on redlined drawings, engineering change requests, deviation requests, and other quality-related documentation, as authorized.
- Identify nonconforming materials or products, document discrepancies, and support containment and corrective action activities.
- Verify completion of required inspections, certifications, and documentation prior to product release.
- Use a variety of precision measuring and inspection tools to validate dimensional and visual requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, specifications, and work instructions to determine compliance.
- Support root cause investigations and provide inspection findings to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
- Assist with developing, updating, and improving inspection methods, forms, and standard work instructions.
- Help ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS LEVEL II:
- High school diploma and 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing Quality.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Use of basic inspection tools (i.e. calipers / gauge blocks / thread gauges / micrometers).
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain results and methodologies.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS LEVEL III:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or inspection.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, thread gauges, and related measuring tools.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods for machined parts, assemblies, and manufactured products.
- Experience identifying, documenting, and escalating nonconformances.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound inspection-related decisions within established procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate quality findings and inspection results.
- Basic computer skills and experience completing inspection documentation electronically and/or manually.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Ability to use hands and arms for repetitive inspection and measuring tasks.
- Visual ability to inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, defects, and workmanship.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Perceiving differences in wire and indicator light colors
- Operating hand and power tools
- Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds
- Working in confined spaces and around aircraft
- Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required
