SUMMARY

Performs functions in Receiving (Dock), Shipping, Inventory Stores (Stockroom) and Property Administration as detailed below.

WORK PERFORMED

Utilizes motor vehicles, forklifts, cranes, carts, jacks and material handling equipment to load, unload, move or arrange material to insure safe transportation and proper storage. May use computer equipment or automated systems and related software applications to access or input data in the performance of duties.

May be responsible for the delivery, pick up, storage and proper handling of hazardous waste/materials from collection and accumulation storage sheds throughout the facilityto a centralized hazardous waste store area, and processing related documentation. May be required to move and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.

Performs related and incidental work assignments as directed in the completion of the assigned tasks. Must be able to follow exacting written and verbal instructions. Must possess a valid driver's license that meets the California Vehicle Code and be certified for forklift operators license. Must obtain required certifications necessary to perform job tasks.

Property Management ( primary role for this requisition )

Performs movement of property between intra-plant locations. Responds to requests for property movement issued by internal customers and assigned by salaried personnel. Picks up property from internal customers for calibration, maintenance, storage, or dispositions and delivers to the Equipment Management Center (EMC), Metrology Lab, or property warehouses. Delivers equipment to internal customers issued from the EMC, Metrology or storage. Stages property in designated warehouse locations for disposition and disposal. Loads, unloads and operates motor vehicles to deliver property to external locations when required. Performs duties associated with the maintenance of property warehouses. May access the Property Management System to obtain or validate data needed in the performance of duties. May assist with property location verifications or searches. May perform duties related to property destruction and disposal requiring the use of hand and small power tools.

Receiving Dock ( secondary role, if required )

Receives and unloads incoming shipments, including hazardous materials, office supplies, equipment and property, bulk shipments, maintenance supplies and return shipments. Determines whether the shipment is a Purchase Order Receipt, Non-Purchase Order Receipt, No-Cost Production Order, or Drop Shipment based on the paperwork in hand and a physical package. Processes related documentation utilizing SAP and ensures shipment documentation (accompanying bill of lading/invoice, supplier packing lists, certifications, test reports, government shipping documents, etc.) complies with Purchase Order requirements. Distributes incoming material to the appropriate area, such as receiving inspection, property management, specified department, warehouse section, or stockroom. As required, prepares parts or materials for outside processing and maintains records within assigned area.

Shipping

Prepares materials for shipment and verifies quantity, weight, and conformance. Fabricates and assembles crates, boxes and other shipping containers. Packs, marks and prepares items for shipment in accordance with established practices, specific instructions and working knowledge of Dangerous Goods shipments (handling, labeling methods and packaging). Loads carrier trucks as required.

Inventory Stores (Stockroom)

Processes materials as related to Inventory Stores activities. Performs stores functions utilizing SAP for binning, conducting inventories, and pulling for issues. Repackages material as required (e.g., ESD), labels (e.g., barcode), and issues materials as requested. Performs inventories (cycle count daily) and maintains minimum stock level requirements and inventory status. Processes kits, requisitions, shop orders, transfers, etc. and arranges for proper disbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • Two (2) years related experience in material storage, handling and distribution.
  • Basic understanding of good property handling and storage practices.
  • Basic understanding of Government property requirements and experience with property management database software.
  • Experience with MS Office and email to the extent required to perform job functions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance as well as required factory and EH&S certifications.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions and environmental/physical requirements of the job.
