Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a federal program focused on cybersecurity operations at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role operates within a fully remote environment and is responsible for developing and analyzing complex datasets to support cybersecurity detection, response, and vulnerability management. The position requires experience supporting data analysis and cybersecurity-related functions within a federal environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine analytical models to identify cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights supporting cybersecurity operations
  • Interpret data trends and patterns to enhance incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to translate data findings into strategic recommendations
  • Support continuous improvement of data analysis processes and tools to meet federal cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing and implementing analytical models in a cybersecurity or data analysis environment
  • Associates Degree and 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar
  • Experience working with large datasets and managing data from multiple sources
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with federal cybersecurity standards such as FISMA, HHS, or DHS CISA guidelines
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and platforms such as SIEM, intrusion detection systems, or threat intelligence platforms
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or related cybersecurity or data analysis credentials
  • Prior experience in a federal or government cybersecurity operational environment

Compensation
$65,000-100,000
