Data Loss Prevention Analyst

Blu Omega is seeking a Data Loss Prevention Analyst to support a federal program focused on cybersecurity operations. This role operates within a fully remote environment and is responsible for managing and maintaining the Symantec Data Loss Prevention environment to ensure the protection of sensitive healthcare data. The position requires experience supporting cybersecurity operations within a government or large organizational setting.
Program Overview
Program: NIH Cybersecurity
Mission overview: Support NIH's cybersecurity defenses through 24/7 monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection, aligned with federal standards such as FISMA, CISA, and HHS regulations.

Work Authorization: Candidates must be eligible for NIH Public Trust
Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain the existing Symantec DLP system following established processes
• Monitor DLP alerts, identify security incidents, and investigate findings
• Resolve alerts promptly to prevent data leaks or unauthorized access
• Document actions and coordinate with security teams for system maintenance and updates
• Maintain system health and ensure compliance with data protection standards
• Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, triage, reporting, remediation, and verification
• Contribute to continuous monitoring and threat detection efforts
• Provide data analytics support for detection, response, and trend analysis
Required Qualifications
• Hands-on experience operating Symantec DLP solutions
• Strong alert management and incident resolution skills
• Familiarity with DLP policies, workflows, and reporting
• Ability to analyze security findings and take corrective actions
• Good communication skills for documenting and coordinating incident responses
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with NIH or federal cybersecurity environments
• Knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity best practices and incident management
• Relevant certifications in cybersecurity or data protection
Compensation
Salary Range: $55,000-77,000
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
