The Space Security Division within Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to drive the execution of multiple projects as an agile leader. This leader will directly and indirectly support the execution of Software Engineering tasks within the Echo Portfolio of programs.
This position will report into the Engineering & Technology organization of Space. The selected leader will manage a team of ~25 Software Engineers including 1 Associate Software Engineering manager and will also fill a technical or programmatic role.
Functional management responsibilities include subordinate employee recruitment, training, performance assessments, work assignments, career development, salary and recognition, disciplinary actions, etc. and are deemed to be roughly 25% of chargeable hours.
Technical or programmatic responsibilities will vary depending on the selected candidate's demonstrated expertise and experience and are deemed to be roughly 75% of chargeable hours. Roles that could fulfil this aspect include Project Engineering, Release Train Engineer (RTE), Subject Matter Expert (SME), or other programmatic leadership roles.
Basic Qualifications:
• Current or prior Functional management experience
• Proven leadership experience and the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Demonstrated Software Engineering experience
• Agile development experience and understanding
• Full Spectrum Leadership behavior, attitude, and perspective
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Active Top Secret security clearance to start and maintain level of SCI clearance throughout the course of employment
• Ability to obtain additional program accesses
Desired Skills:
• Customer/Mission Obsessed
• Strategic thinker that can relate technology solutions to customer use cases
• Good balance of IQ & EQ to be able to solve both technical and social challenges
• Previous experience on an Echo program and currently held clearance for an Echo program
• Familiarity with LM program lifecycles, processes, and procedures
• Experience performing in an Agile role; product owner, scrum master, or Release Train Engineer
• Demonstrated change agent - e.g., implementation of new processes, systems, etc.
• Proposal and BOE experience
