Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL has an immediate opening for a Software Safety Engineer
to help field a new missile defense system, Long Range Hypersonic Weapon, that the nation urgently needs.
In this role, you will use your expertise to ensure that safety is crafted into hardware and software products and that controls are incorporated and remain effective while assuring compliance to safety requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college in technical disciple (e.g. engineering field) or equivalent discipline ( e.g. math, physics, chemistry, etc.). and 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
• Familiar with software engineering languages and associated processes across the software lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. USC is required
Desired Skills:
• Experience in Software Safety with strong technical skills in performing hazard analyses, identifying software safety requirements, developing fault trees, and recommending risk mitigation. Documenting software testing and objective evidence for risk characterization.
• Prior experience working with U.S. Army or US Navy customers
• Current Secret Security Clearance
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
